Music and emotions go hand and hand. When Santana says dance I want to dance. When Janis says don’t you cry, I tear up. Listening to Jane’s Addiction makes me feel original, like this is my time! I do recall during the NINJA tour at an outdoor venue Jane’s Addiction terrified me! They came out on stage at sunset, just as I was getting my psilocin bearings together. The energy was beautiful and the night was right. The band played so well, you could tell they were having a good time, Dave sat at the edge of the stage, swinging his legs, sharing a drink with fans. My husband and I decided to go to the top of the hill for a different view. I stood so tall, looking at this giant Perry on the big screen. With so much energy he paced and said “I want to take a minute to talk about something.” The band had my full attention. “I want to talk about something serious,” he continued as time started to slow way down. I thought to myself, he’s going to say sex, it will be okay, but, no, that isn’t what he said. “I want to talk about….I want to talk about…” here it comes, sex….nope. With a big smile, crazy eyes, this giant Perry says “DEATH.” Oh sh*t! The top of the hill turned into the top of a mountain, the energy underneath my feet started to shake so much I was sure the mountain was about to crumble and cave in like the shifting of tectonic plates, next I would fall crashing down to the fire and molten center of the earth. I cannot even imagine the look on my face, terror! My husband said my name and I snapped out of it, missing everything Perry had just said about the subject! We walked back down the hill just as they began to play my favorite song, and all was well!
