*I just think Lolla IS beginning to cater too much to the popular bands and so called "indie" bands.

I would just like to say HOLY FUCK. That's honestly the only thing that could describe my mood while watching you guys at Riot Fest. Honestly from a musician to musicians, thank you Perry, Stephen, Dave, and Chris for giving me the best fucking concert I've ever seen. I'm not saying this to kiss ass or because I know every word off your first three records, but honestly........what a fucking show. In the cold and rain too! At your age you still got it, and goddammit did your show blow me away. I got a kick out of the older folks in the crowd giving me confused looks and asking how the hell an 18 year old knows Jane's music. Please come back A.S.A.P. to Chicago and play Ritual De Lo Habitual or a Porno for Pyros record now or fuck it, anything you want to play, I'll be there. Thank you once again for making my year, and possibly my life. Sorry for complaining about Lolla earlier in the year. I just think Lolla isn't beginning to cater too much to the popular bands or stupid "indie" bands. The whole point of Lolla was to showcase the alternative, weird, beautiful, dark shades of music that wasn't for everyone. But I understand, Lolla has become the biggest festival in the country and people like myself begin to expect certain things. Perry started one of the greatest festivals in the world and I think Jane's or Porno should always make an appearance more often. The beauty about bands like Jane's, the Pixies, Ministry, etc. is you guys opened so many doors and even though now you guys are way bigger than you ever were back then, there is still a whole new audience you could cater this amazing music to that have only heard about your music through their parents. People shouldn't forget where Lolla came from and what it I think it really means to people. The amount of weird, colorful people that showed up during the Cure's amazing set last year was awesome. It should be like that, not drugged up teens dryhumping while dubstep is blasting. Anyways, at the end of the day you guys probably won't read this but if you do, just thank you for the vast amounts of both musical and way of life inspirations you give me. You do whatever you want with Lolla, but when Jane's or Porno comes to town, I will happily be there to appreciate REAL alternative music. Not Ray-Ban, Flannel wearing, douchebag haircut, molly tripping, hipsters who now get labeled as "alternative".
